Biography:

A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Larry was an MSU student from 1973 to 1978 earning BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering. He later attended night school at Mississippi College while working in the Jackson area, earning an MBA degree. In 2004, he returned to MSU as a staff member after a career of over 25 years in private industry. He has worked for several Fortune 500 and small privately owned companies in a variety of manufacturing related professional positions.
Larry is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He is a certified professional engineer in the State of Mississippi and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Recently, he participated in the re-organization of a Society of Manufacturing Engineers Student Chapter at MSU and currently is serving as the faculty advisor to the group. |

Six Sigma is a methodology that provides businesses with the tools to improve the capability of their business processes. As Director of Six Sigma in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Larry\\\'s responsibilities include serving as an instructor of academic courses, directing the Bagley College of Engineering\\\'s new Six Sigma Certificate Program, and providing process improvement support for a variety of university functions. He works with numerous private industries in the area of six sigma through collaborations with MSU\\\'s Industrial Outreach and Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) extension services. He has also collaborated with MSU\\\'s Stennis Institute of Government on projects involving governmental administrative processes.
